DANIEL ZIMMERMANN

 

The works of Swiss director, choreographer, and visual artist Daniel Zimmermann are based on actionism in the fields of visual and performance art. They respond to situations and environments, raising questions about the meaning and sustainability of human behaviour. His short films Downhill Skiing (2007) and Stick Climbing (2010) have won multiple awards and become audience favourites at film festivals. His debut feature film Walden (2018) won the Special Jury Award at Karlovy Vary and the Emerging Swiss Talent Award at the Zurich FilmFestival, and was showcased at around 50 festivals worldwide.
